After University I decided to create a new website which would replace my previous 'Online Portfolio'. The idea was to make navigating and updating the site easier. The new website was quite successful and generated allot of freelance work however the more freelance work I took on the less time I had to spend on my own site. After being online for over 3 years it started to look a little neglected so I set about creating a simpler site with less content. Instead of having one site I decided to create 3 so each area could have its own distinctive look. One for photography, then another for Digital Work and then finally a bio section. For photography I decided on a colourful layout that would change depending on the galleries you were viewing (in a similar way to how Vr 3 works). The menu system revealed itself when the mouse was placed over the colour blocks that were worked into Vr 1's Logo. Instead of having multiple galleries for each section I decided to show what I thought were my best photos in each section. Unfortunately Clients and friends wanted to see the older photographs as well as the newest so I decided to redesign the site AGAIN. Vr 3 of MARTIN PRICE . ORG is the version your using today. As you can see the design has evolved from Vr 2 using the original colours and basic idea but applying it to all the work I have ever created or photographed. The large BARCODE above acts as the main menu for the site. Each stripe has been coloured based on the type of gallery it is, for example all the galleries based on 'digital work' are coloured blue. The further left the stripe is within the barcode the newer the gallery is so it will constantly be evolving as a create more work. There is also a standard menu system to the left for easier navigation. Eventually I plan to create a floating menu system which will move with the user as they scroll down the page.
